Green my Apple

Here's a wallpaper (1440x900) that I put together to contribute to the "Green my Apple" campaign. This campaign by Greenpeace is designed to encourage Apple to be more conscious of their impact on our environment and modify their products and processes to reduce waste and toxic products. Find out more at: www.greenmyapple.org/

Feel free to use it for your desktop.

Update (2007-05-02): Apple has heard the call and is anwering. Great news!

Hello there!

I am an undergraduate student at Brown University working with the Choices for the 21st Century Education Program. The Choices Program is a non-profit, educational program that produces material on complex international issues, both historical and current. Currently, I am working with Choices to develop supplementary material for a printed curriculum using Google Earth. One thing that I am really excited about is attaching images to placemarks, in order to give middle and
high school students a richer understanding of the area of the world about which they are learning. I am creating an interactive feature exploring religious demographics in several countries in the Middle East, and in looking for images to supplement this, I came across some wonderful photographs that you have posted on Flickr. In particular, I was interested in using this picture of the Umayyad mosque in Damascus:

The GoogleEarth application would not come as a part of the printed curriculum, but would be downloadable by teachers accessing the
website. I hope you will allow us to use this image; if you have any questions you may contact me at hannahpc@gmail.com. Thank you for your
help in enabling us to provide educators with quality material.

All the best,
